RAM Issue!!!

I'm currently use Vista Home Premium with my HP Pavillion dv4-1137tx.

A week ago i bought (2gb 800mhz)x2 and new hdd 320gb 16m and also vista ultimate 64bit edition.

When i installed...and i open task manager...i can see the available memory is 4096mb...

after several i do update my windows,all sudden when i open task manager...i can only see available memory is 3069mb !!!


please help me somebody....!!!!! :( :( :(

The previous poster's info is not correct, although I suspect they may have misunderstood an x86 limit (which has no bearing on your x64 situation).

"Available" doesn't mean "free". Think of it as a combination of "unassigned" and "assigned but capable of being repurposed quickly if necessary". Superfetch attempts to preload things into RAM that it thinks you'll soon need, based on prior observation of your app usage habits and several other mechanisms, and that can sometimes manifest itself as substantial changes in memory utilisation.

Unless you're seeing errors, there's almost no point worrying about this stuff.
