Alright so this is where the problem started.
This is from another forum I posted on:
"So I started a CHK DSK scan, restarted my computer, and started it. It was taking a while, like a couple hours, so I let it be. I just got home, and it was at my profile login page, and it said something about failing, so I tried to log on, and it kept saying something about it failing, so I restarted. It went to restart, and it blue screens around the time the Vista loading screen starts.. I reset my BIOS and Fail-Safe settings, and no luck.."

Then..

I tried repairing with the OS DVD helped, it got me past the Vista loading screen, but now my computer just sits at a black lit screen with my cursor, I tried Safe Mode and got the same result..

And then I tried following this guide: REVISED: How to fix the Vista KSOD (blacK Screen Of Death) | LogBlog and it didn't help.

And now I'm still stuck with a black lit screen with a movable cursor after the Vista loading screen. I tried system restoring with the DVD, but I don't think it showed any previous points.

I have a backup drive, that I backed up with Acronis, but when I backed up my 500GB drive, it's showing a 373GB file, but I'm either using 441GB or that's how much my 500 is giving.

Would this work?
How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows Vista

Thanks.
