Need permission to perform..?

I am using Vista Business 64bit on a Mac Pro. This is my first time ever using Windows so it's taking me some time to get use to how it works. This is my computer and I am the only person who works on it. I have downloaded and installer application that I do not want to use. So I tried to delete it but I keep getting the message "you need permission to perform this action". How can I delete this?

Hello Speters1,

If you just needed to uninstall the program, then you can select it in Programs and Features instead to.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

I do need to do that for some, but others are just files that I downloaded and unzipped but did not install.

Re: Need permission to perform..?

Vista has increased user access control. Just moving a text file can get the 'You don't have permission' popup. Speaking from first hand experience.

You might be able to take ownership of the file first, then be able to delete it afterwards.
