dodgy RAM??

bray:way

BLAH!!
Power User
here we go again lol

i bought some ram off of ebay (bad idea i know, but ddr memory is very expensive form the shops) i put it in and try boot,i go into bios and it picks up the new ram as 1021 (which it is) so that looks fine. but then i try to boot. and it gets to the loading screen then restarts. so i go into recovery console thingy and it loads but then gives me BSOD?
the error it give me yesterday was: "PFN list corrupt." and today i put it in a dif socket and it gave irql not less or equal
any ideas

thnx

Braydon

You might look for one of the, I did a google search and there are several, free memtest programs out there. Some will run from floppy, if you have a floppy drive.

what kind of BIOS options do you have in regards to RAM..??

voltages, timings etc...??

your board maybe defaulting the RAM to the wrong voltage, or the timings may need adjusting....

can i have the specs of the RAM sticks you actually bought..??
