Video thumbnail problem

Hi, I'm having some trouble with the thumbnail images of my videos. Some of the thumbnails look like a filmstrip with a random scene from the movies while some are just default thumbnails. I was wondering if anyone knew how I could get all my videos look like the filmstrip thumbnail? It looks rather messy when some files have the default while others are scenes from the video. thank you

Welcome to Vista Forums!
If you have installed Vista x64, it is a common problem: videos coded with DivX or XviD have default icons in Explorer.

Hi joone,

You could try Shark007 codec pack for Windows Vista. This should resolve your thumbnail issue.
Note   Note
There is still verious problem aquiring thumbnails for .MKV files but there are plenty of sound solutions you can google, or may even find on this site

Hope this helps :)

I've tried it on Vista Ultimate x64 and I wasn't able to play divx videos anymore. I had to reinstall divx code from official website.

Ah, that's no good. There is always K-Lite. I used to use it all the time untill Shark007 came along (no, it's nothing to do with my Username LOL).

I'll try it, although I don't care if I can't see thumbnails...
Tell the truth, you used Shark007 because of your username... LOOOOOOL
