please help power loss during system restore

Hi, im wondering if anyone can help me, i had to do a system restore which i've done before with no problems, this time however when the comp started back up we had a power cut and now when i turn on comp all i get is a black screen even starting in safe mode etc all i get is the microsoft logo at the bottom of the screen and it just goes back to the black screen, the only thing working is the cursor
can anyone PLEASE HELP!!!

If you have a Vista install disk you can do a repair install; have a look at the tutorial, at the link below.

Repair Install For Vista

Hi Ted thanks for the welcome
I tried it with the disc but nothing happened, then noticed its an anytime upgrade disc is that why it didn't work, iam a real novice not even sure im putting the disc in at the right time

You should be using a restore disc, not an anytime upgrade disc. Do you still have these?

No, the comp was built and vista put on for me then after about a year it kept saying it was counterfeit, so i went to the microsoft website and downloaded a genuine copy, and the discs they sent through only included an anytime disc for the 32 and 64

In many cases you can contact the manufacturer to get replacement discs. However, since it seems like your system was built (and not by you) you might want to get in touch with Microsoft about replacement discs:
