It says something in relationship with these words.

Windows Boot Manager
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."

Hello Timberwolve3, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Looks like a problem with your boot file or MBR. It is just recommending that you run a startup repair to see if it can fix this error for you.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Please excuse my lack of computer knowledge.

I seem to have a problem. I have the restore disk, however, it won't let me access it.

After I select the CD/DVD option it just sends me back to the "Windows boot manager" screen.

You have to insert Vista installation DVD, select Next when you are at language selection screen and then click Repair.

Timberwolve,

When you put your Vista installation DVD (retail, not OEM) in the DVD drive and restart, you will only have 8 seconds to press a key to boot from the DVD instead of the hard drive. If you get this error again, then you missed it, and it is trying to boot from a hard drive.

Double check your BIOS settings to make sure that you have the CD/DVD drive listed first, then the hard drive in the boot priority order list.
