Vista Home Premium in my Dell XPS M1730 won't start. When I was working that night, all the programs were automatically closed without saving, and the system shut down for no reasons. I had to start it, but it won't start. Both Safe Mode and Safe Mode with Networking won't start either. Startup Repair was unable to fix the problems. I went F8 and had my computer into full diagnostic analysis on hardware, and there was no problem found in the hardware. Still, Vista won't start.
So then I tried the safe mode option, pressing F8 on startup. In starting in Safe Mode, it stops every time on one named "windows\system32\drivers\crcdisk.sys."
I ran into Command Prompt and showed the result below. Please see bold.
Any suggestions? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
