Make sure if everything in explorer in viewable
Windows Explorer Folder View settings
or better way use any external file manager for example Total Commander
and delete all *.job files in folder C:\Windows\Tasks

Re: Task Scheduler Error-task image corrupt or has been tampered with User_Feed_Synch

Dear Flavius,
Thanks for the quick reply .I am a complete novice and quite nervous fixing things but will try, I did Reset the Folders button and downloaded Total Commander and got to C:\Windows\Tasks in left pane, but the only files there are GoogleUpdateTaskM..job and SCHEDULGU TXT!What should I do with these,Delete?
I read the part about Sp2 fixing some of this .But that is my problem ,this all started when the Sp2 failed because of missing files and then I had Install crash , I'm still waiting for Microsoft to tell me which Product Key to use for In Place Upgrade so I can try sp2 again ,they had to send me Replacement Disc with Sp1 because my Dell Disc was pre Sp1,but now I don't know if I should use original Product Key or the one on the Replacement Disc envelope to activate at the end of In Place Upgrade?
Thanks so much for the help and patience, you guys are life savers!
Regards,Steven(urlnts)

Re: Task Scheduler Error-task image corrupt or has been tampered with User_Feed_Synch

Flavius,
I was able to delete GoogleUpdate Task after using Administrator ,but SCHEDULGU would not delete even after Total Commander asked for Administrator rights and I hit continue ,it still would not delete!Well I guess I will have to get up the nerve to do an In Place Upgrade,I just hope I don't have to do a Clean Install,Vista Home Premium does not back up all files and I'm afraid about drivers ,even though I do have the original Dell Driver Disc !I know nothing about these things!Someone said that Windows Easy Transfer might work with an External Hard Drive,or something called Acronis for $50 ,is it worth it and would it make easier?
Thanks again for everything,
Steven

Did you run TC with administrative previlliges (right click on Total Commander icon as admin)?
Uninstall Google Toolbar if you have - I think it is his task and try again delete this task.If still nothing help try to do it in safe mode.
