| vista home premium | Recovery D backup full? Help!! I keep getting this little bubble saying my recovery D is full. I deleted a ton of files and put all of my pictures on flashdrives but that was a waste of time, it didn't help. Since I'm really not a geek with computers, I'm sooo lost. My C drive says 218GB free of 288GB and D says 12.7MB free of 9.99GB Any idea how to fix this? Thanks so much (in english please, like I said, kinda slow with this stuff) |

| Vista Ultimate x64; Win 7 x64 and x32 | Re: Recovery D backup full? This is normal. The recovery drive is designed to be full so you won't mess around with it (and subsequently mess it up). Try this tutorial for fixing it (I'd use method 2 - and only do it on the Recovery drive): Low Disk Space Warning in Vista |

| vista home premium | Re: Recovery D backup full? Okay, that makes sense but it's still okay if I try to run a back up (or the automatic one does it every month) and it says "error there is not enough empty space to save the back up files. Free up disk space or change your back up settings.?" My last two back ups have failed. Thanks |

| Vista home basic 32 bit | Re: Recovery D backup full? Caribbeangirl - I also kept getting the message "D drive nearly full". After a lot of working on the problem another forum had me run a program which told them I had a virus which they took out. I'm not smart enough to give any advise but get somebody to check for a virus. Bob |

| Windows 7 x64 | Re: Recovery D backup full? I think the easiest way is to go to the MY Computer Icon on your desktop, Right click, go to properties, go to system protection, then remove the check mark indicating that you want to shut down automatic checkpoints. Then restart your computer. Your D drive should be cleared. I would then make a manual restore point, since now you have none. Go back and replace the check for automatic restore points. |
