I just got Windows Vista on my new laptop. Through a wireless network I transferred files from the computer to my laptop. On my laptop these files seem to be in perminate "Read-only" status. Everytime I check the box and commit to all files it seems as if it has made them non-read-only. I go back to properties and the Read-only box is checked agian? Why! Any help will be much appreciated.

Many thanks,
Michele

You haven't really given us much to go on, we don't know the specs of your machine what the files you transferred were and from what machine you transferred them from, what operating system did it run and what just what type of files were they ?

I'm sure someone will be able to help if you give us some more information with regards the machines in question and what program the files belong to ;)
