Hello Bankerrrahul, and welcome to Vista Forums.

You can use a program like PowerISO to open the Windows 7 ISO file and extract all of the files in a folder on your Vista desktop. When done, you can run the Windows 7 setup to install it on a selected drive or partition.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

I just tested it, and had no problem running the same 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows 7 as the one Vista is.

Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and Vista - Windows 7 Forums

Double check to be sure that you have already have another drive or have created another partition to install Windows 7 on first, then run the setup.exe. During installation, select the "Custom (advanced)" option, then select where (not Vista partition) you want to install Windows 7 at.

From my understanding, you can boot to Vista without any problems, but have nothing but your hard drive to run the Windows 7 installation from. Correct me if I'm wrong.

However, that "Bad Image" error message indicates that you most likely have a bad or corrupted Windows 7 ISO file. You might try to extract the files from the ISO one more time with PowerISO to see it may just have been copied bad the first time. If you get the same error again, then you will need to redownload a new Windows 7 ISO file. :(

Doing this will allow you to run the Windows 7 installation setup (if good) from within Vista to install on the hard drive or partition that you like to dual boot Vista and Windows 7.

Well, the problem is that you are running Vista 32-bit. You will not be able to install the 64-bit Windows 7 using this method. You can install a 32-bit Windows 7 like this though.

I would recommend to get a cheap DVD drive, or 4GB USB key to make it easier on you though.

but my pc is x64 supportive....so why can't i install x64 ?...
and i agree if you are right....and i have already tried to install it by booting it from a usb drive and it started working but it stopped at the partition selection...and it showed an error that cd/dvd drivers not found and it stopped from there....
but ok...doesn't matter now :):( but if you can give me the direct link of x64 or x32..whatever you prefer would be appropriate for me...i would be thankful to you very much....and thank you so much for your time replying to my posts. i am very happy with your support but the problem is that i am not able to add more reputation points to you...i was able to do it only once :(:S
anyway...thanks for the replies and please reply to this :)
