How do I restore from a OS reinstallation Backup?

Hi all,
I had to reinstall my Vista OS to the factory defaults yesterday. During the reinstall process, I chose the path of Backup/reinstall and the backup was done successfully and the reinstall was also successful.

Now, my question is, how do I restore some (not all) the files that was backed up during the reinstall process. I have tried the standard restore process but it appears that it is unable to "see" the backup files done during the reinstall.

Can some guru walk me through what I need to do here?

Any help will be highly appreciated.
