For my last disk I paid $219 for a 60GB OCZ Vertex SSD. Random access time is 4 nanoseconds versus 20 milliseconds on a spinning disk.

£130 for a 1tb hdd last year. Was part of my vista upgrade strategy to have plenty of hdd space before installing it as vista x64 uses quite a bit. Glad I did, now i am free from managing my hdd so much.

Less than 100 bucks for a WD VelociRaptor 160GB purchased a few months ago, less than 100 bucks for a Samsung 750GB purchased about 2 yrs ago and a little bit over 100 bucks (IIRC) for an External 160Gb purchased more than 5 years ago.
