Printer sharing problem

Please can someone help me, I am brand new to this site have a very basic technical knowledge.

I am having problems with my shared printer Lexmark X750), my main PC which is running windows XP is shared with my laptop which is running Vista Home Premium. I have been printing from both for a while but all of a sudden the laptop will not print anymore. Both are showing the printers in the control panels as sharing, I can print from my main PC no problem but when I try and print from my laptop the dialogue box comes up with the name of the printer then when I click 'OK' to print I get an error message which says "Windows cannot print due to a problem with the current printer setup", but I have checked and everything looks fine.

I am not sure if this has anything to do with microsoft updates being installed?.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
