Uninstalling Apps

Hi, I have just uninstalled 23 Apps, using revo uninstaller, which also cleans up leftover files, folders, registry keys, etc. I want to free up disk space. Well, some of the Apps were over 1gb, BUT, still my hard drive has even changed??. may have only free up about only 1gb?.. Hardly changed at all?
Can someone tell me why it hasn't freed up my drive?. I do not want to re-format.
My disk space has hardly changed?... Hmmmm...

Regards
Rip:confused:

That's odd. This is a long shot but check and see if the files were not deleted by Revo. I also use Revo and so far no problems with it. Also, try clearing out unnecessary files with Ccleaner. I'm not sure though.

Try this, Advanced System Care Free. Download and install. You actually don't need the main feature of the program. All you need is its disk explorer function once installed. Don't run the scan anymore. Instead, go directly to utilities then admin tools then disk explorer. This utility can show you the top 100 files eating up your hard drive and among other things the biggest folders and a lot more information. Hope this helps.

Revo makes system restore pt by default before each uninstall operation - that could have used a lot space - you may want to reduce the amount of space reserved for Shadow Copies.

Thanks SIW2, I have already done that also??.. The thing is......
After uninstalling over 20 Applications, my hard drive has barely moved?
Some of the programs were over 1GB?, Why hasn't it reduced disk space on my hard drive?
I do not understand?.. Strange??

You could try doing this:

  1. Download, install and then run - - PerfectDisk - - to defrag all hard drives and partitions
  2. Once its completed the defrag, reboot your pc
  3. Once you are back at the desktop, check your hard drive for errors by clicking on the vista start orb and then clicking on Computer. You then right click on your hard drive and click Properties. Next go to the Tools tab and under Error Checking click on Check Now and tick both the boxes. Then click Start and reboot your pc
Once you've done the above you shouldl be able to see how much hard drive space you've really saved.
