I am needing some major help. Everytime I turn my computer on, it boots normally but instead of loading windows, I get a black screen with a mouse that I can move around. I have tried starting in safe mode, using the Startup repair, and restoring last known good configurations all with the same result. Diagnostic tests also say there is nothing wrong with it. I have a Dell Inspiron 1720. I went to the Dell website and they were useless and said I had to restore everything back to the factory condition. I dont have a recovery disk and I have a lot of work files on here that I cant lose. Can anyone help?
