I was running a malwarebytes scan in the backround and all of the sudden ie locked up. I tried to open task manager and got a black screen. Then I got an error message that said- logon process has failed to create the security options dialog. Then I got out of the black and there malware bytes was running fine again. what does all this mean- does t mean malware bytes was scanning the file for so long and was trying to verify it but malwarebytes couldent get the security dialog fo rit so it moved on? Please help

or maybe worse maybe something was trying to do some unauthorized thing to my computer???????

Not much info to go on here (and I don't usually work these sort of issues - I'm the BSOD analyzer).

Since the screen went black, I'd suspect it was something that interfered with your video drivers. Since you're scanning with MalwareBytes, it's not a far fetched idea to think that this may be associated with malware. Add to this the security issue with the logon and it's most likely malware IMO.

The 2 things to do:
- remove all malware (we don't do that in this forum)
- then, update your video drivers
