Compatibility OS Questions

Hi Everyone,

I am helping my friend who wants to upgrade to Vista. He is wondering if his computer motherboard and graphics card will support Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit. His motherboard is a: MB-EVGA122CKNF68B1. He would like to know if that would support Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit. His graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS. If someone could reply with an answer that would be great! All help is appreciated.

Hello alienware,
The motherboard would be ok, you will need to check that the CPU is compatible with x64 though
The graphics card will be ok for x64 too, you wont have any problems with drivers.

This does help. His CPU is an Alienware Area 51-7500. I'm not completely sure how to check if his CPU is compatible with x64. Any tips? All help is appreciated!

If it's the standard Area 51-7500 then it will have a 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 processor. This CPU is x64bit compatible. I have enclosed the CPU specs for you.
