Just installed Vista Ultimate 64. I have a Dual Core Quad with 8 gig ram. Radeon HD 2600 graphic card. Was running XP Pro 32 bit with 4 gig ram. Vista is very slow to boot. Most programs have a lag time. Just tried working in PhotoShop for the first time and it is extremely slow Not even close to the speed it had in XP Pro. All programs are new installs. I primarily use Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premier etc.

You might have a problem with frag- vista default defrag isnt very efficient. I would also try a disk check.

See this for more info. I do this on all my computers regularly:

Have you made sure you have all updated drivers, checked what's starting up with the computer in msconfig, run a malware/antivirus scan, and made sure you had the newest version of adobe running? I know Adobe Photoshop CS4 is only 64 bit app in their sweet as of May (I haven't been home in a bit).
