repartition external hard drive

I have a hard drive that I removed from an old computer before I scrapped it. (The screen got messed up.) It is currently split into two partitions. I want to use it to back up my wife's laptop. Is there any way to get rid of the partitions and just make it one, big ol' 80GB hard drive?

Thanks

Start->Run->diskmgmt.msc
Just click the external drive letter, and delete the partitions and reformat it.

(You'll lose any files on them, so make sure to backup prior)

Thanks very much. I didn't realize I needed to delete both partitions. I deleted the second one and then tried to extend the first and that wasn't working. Thanks for the reminder about backing up although I had already wiped the entire drive, I just couldn't get rid of the partitions.

Again, thanks. Worked like a charm.
