DVD will not autoplay in Vista64

Solved: DVD will not autoplay in Vista64

My LG HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH22NS30 (ATA) has ceased to autoplay, despite the checkbox being

ticked and unticked for enabling it. This is only on Vista. If I reboot into Windows 7 RC

the DVD autoplays perfectly.

If I click on the DVD icon in My Computer (Vista Home Premium x64) it explores, but will not

start a DVD.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers too. No change.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? (and how to fix?)

did you goto my computer, than clicking on the drive from there?

In My Computer "open" explores a disc rather than plays it.
Double clicking just shows files too.

The advice at this link failed to bring it back, and for Vista it is services.msc, not service.msc

Hour/s later: OK. After repeating the above, and very similar advice found thru Google, I have rebooted to working autoplay, without really knowing precisely what it was that succeeded. It was the registry changes, but it seemed like three reboots before they took effect???

Just to betray my ignorance, how do you put solved on the topic heading?
