OS Vista Home Premium 64

Have my system built and everything seems ok. Post is good with no errors. Only (1) HDD and DVD connected now. During windows Vista 64 installation I eventually get the message "WINDOWS COULD NOT FORMAT A PARTITION ON DISK 0. THE ERROR OCCURRED WHILE PREPARING THE PARTION SELECTED FOR INSTALLATION. ERROR CODE 0x80070057"

I'm sure i need to adjust something in the bios but what??
I did disable the JMICRON Controller and that got me to where I am at now.
What settings do I need in the ASUS P6T Bios to complete this install??

HDD is on SATA 1
DVD/CD on SATA 2

Do I need to update BIOS? HDD & DVD/CD show in BIOS as SATA 1 & SATA 2 by there names. So they are being recognized.

I'm lost at this point. I need your expert advice. / PLEASE??

Thanks in advance.
Newbie trying hard.

Ok, OS is loading now. Problem solved. "4 pin power connecter was not connected to floppy drive" Once I seen that and made the connection it started to install. Something so minut but yet had me fretting. Thansk for the responses. I'm sure I will be back posting.

Install of Vista 64 completes than reinstalls?

I have gotten past some minor issues on my new build. Now on the Vista 64 installation it goes all the way to completion with no errors and says it must restart, which is typical. But then it goes right back into booting off the DVD/CD drive and starts a fresh install. I tried removing the DVD/CD but that did not work. Could having the bios set to ACHI have anything to do with it? Suggestions??

I have merged the threads as they are a continuation of the same problem. Reading the first post, can I suggest the use of locking SATA cables if you are not already using them? It is extremely easy for non-locking types to work themselves loose from their sockets. This is from my own experience.

I would see in you BIOS how you have the boot order set. It should be HD first then your CD/DVD second. Maybe that's why it's booting off the CD after you did successfully install Vista on your HD. Change the boot order in the BIOS and see what happens. Hope this helps!

Some things I did and Vista finally loaded. Maybe somebody can explain?
1) Floppy drive power connector was noy connected. Had to connect
2) SATA drives in IDE mode not AHCI
3) Had to connect the HDD & DVD/Cd SATA controller cables in the same order as the boot menu. Eaxample; DVD/CD Boot 1 had to be connected to SATA 1. HDD Boot 2 had to connected to SATA 2. Someone explain this? I thought it did not matter what conbination the contrioller cables were connected. But once I did this, Vista loaded with no problems from there on. Updates and all.
