timedate.cpl

My son's Presario C500 has a time clock problem. It repeats the same hour over and over. Instead of going to 10:00, at 9:59 it goes right back to 9:00 and repeats the cycle. I have tried to find a new timedate.cpl driver but, I haven't been able to find one. I'm not sure that's the right driver either. Microsoft Vista website has been no help at all. Has anyone run into this problem?

timedate.cpl doesn't control the time - rather it provides an interface where you can adjust the settings.

Have you tried running SFC.EXE /SCANNOW from an elevated (run as administrator) Command Prompt?

I have heard of computers with more than one user account where one
account keeps good time and the other doesn't. It wouldn't hurt to open
a couple of new accounts (An Admin. account and a Standard account)
and leave them idle except for checking on their timekeeping.

If one of them keeps good time , you can transfer your personal files
into it and either ignore or delete the old account.
