Vista - Folder Picture/Customization Problem

I like to put pictures on all my folders for videos and music. I just got an external hard drive because I need more space, so I moved the videos onto the new drive. The pictures did not stay on the folders when moved them to the new drive, and no matter how many times I try, I can't get them to show up on the folders. I tried saving a picture I want to use as "folder.jpg" within one of the folders, but that doesn't work.

This really annoying, so if anyone knows how to fix it I'd greatly appreciate it.

i think you woudn't mind if i ask u . What is the exact problem, Are u want to use the folder.jpg as icon for the folder? or you want your system to show the image while looking at the folder?

I want the folder to have the selected picture as its cover I guess. I don't want it as an icon. I want it to look like a folder with a picture in it. I right click the folder, click customize, click choose file, but the picture doesn't show up. It works fine on my C drive, but not at all on my external drive. I tried a fix I found online that said to put the desired picture in the folder and name the picture "folder.jpg," but that didn't work.

while clicking customize>choose file are you getting window like this?
