partition and file system

Hi all,

Am curious to know where all the partition information and file system information stored in a hard drive, and how can i read that?

If i can read that in any way is it possible to backup the partition information as well as filesystem information and restore when i required?:D

I'm not sure about that, but creating a full system image backup would include everything that was selected when restored lated.

But i'm really curious about the partition and file system information. where will it be stored? and how can we read them?

say, if my partition table corrupted and i have a backup of the table, then i can easily restore my partitions.

One more thing, what is the file system?

If the system image backup was on a separate hard drive, then yes you should be able to easily restore the entire system again from the backup. You cannot restore just the partition table or parts of the system image image backup though. It's a all or nothing deal.
