Display settings and desktop right click disabled?

Hey Guys

Having a major headache with a problem that has surfaced today. All of a sudden i cannot right click on the desktop, and i cannot get into the display settings, i get this message - Your system admin has disabled launching if the display settings control panel.

I logged into the Admin account right now, so surely i should be allowed to do this?

Any ideas guys???

MMm.. Okay,

Type gpedit.msc in run, the following window will open,


Capture.JPG

Expand user configurations>administrative templates>control panel>display double on the underlined policies and click on disable.

Close gp editor and try to change wallpaper

ok i'll try that, im not trying to change the wallpaper mind, just trying to sort out my displays, just installed a couple of 24 inch dells.

I cant even right click on desktop though.. its all gone pear shaped!!

just rebooting then will give it a shot

Disable all i mentioned and you will get the property box.

ok cool i got the display setting box up now nice one mate!!

All i need now is my right button to work again??

Any idea on that buddy?

nothing, the button works becoz if i right click and and drag along it brings up the blue highlight box also in system tray it works ok.

Very odd.

What happens when u right click on a file or folder on your desktop?
