C:/System Recovery file folder/C/<my files>

I came across this question and it did not appear to the be answered:

Hi. I just completed a system recovery using the created discs
without a hitch. However, prior to this, I used the backup wizard
to backup all documents, settings, and program files onto an external
hard drive. After recovering the system, I also attempted to restore
the backup files--which went fine and it deposited all of the files
from my previous C: drive into a " recovery files " folder on my C:
drive. However, therein lies the problem. I have no idea how to actually
restore programs and settings (documents are there just fine). Do I copy
and paste over the identical folder I have now (i.e. copying over the ones
that don't have the previous data)? What about reinstalling all
the non-factory programs? It said it was supposed to do all of
this, but all I get is a folder filled with program files that I have no
idea what to do with... HELP!
Can someone please answer this question, I have the same problem. I needed to do a full recovery, have completed the process, but I don't know how to get all of my programs and setting back in the original working order.

Do I need to copy all of the folders from the

C:/System Recovery file folder/C/<my folders and files>

over to the C:/ drive?

over to of the folders and files already there?

It took me 8 hours to complete the Recovery process, and I didn;t have a choice to choose another location of the recovery files/. I really hope I don't have to go through another 8 hours to copy the folders&files back to the C:/drive.

Did you use Windows or an aftermarket backup application?

My Computer

System One

  • Manufacturer/Model
    Compaq/SR5130NX
    CPU
    AMD AthlonTM 64x2 3800+
    Memory
    4 GB
    Graphics Card(s)
    NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE
I used the Windows Recovery that was already on the PC, not an aftermarket app. It might be the HP backup recovery system.

I'd show a screenshot, but my Adobe Photoshop is in C:/System Recovery file folder/C/Adobe and I can't open the program.

Mainly because I can't find any .exe files in the System Recovery File folder, but that's just one more problem....

I apologize for being so confused.
