Invisible notes gadget on sidebar

I have a problem that you have solved before, only the challenge is newer... . I lost my notes gadget and it was packed with info... I know you solved this in the past from the forums. I took a stab at it and then found your forum... but still could not solve it...
I tried to using restore the gadgets installed with windows only it will not let me. It is not active.. that is it has a faded look unlike the view list of running gadgets over it. When I run click the list of running gadgets I know my notes are there, because they appear as running but I cannot see them. When I try to use the windows key +G i can see that there is a recognition of them being there only they must be invisible becasue I cannot see them or read them. the little icons on the side or each gadget (x sign, and wrench and dotted boxes (whatever you call them) appear for my other gadgets. But in the space of my notes there is only an x sign and a dotted box but no wrench. ... any ideas???
I hope I am clear enough...
Thank you!!!
I really want my notes!

Right click on the sidebar and close it. Then reopen it by clicking on the sidebar icon in the notification area. Maybe that brings it back.

Perhaps if you track the gadget to its source you can retrieve your info.

Computer > C: > Program files > Windows Sidebar > [NoteGadget]

The info may be in a file that Notepad can open. Worth a try?

Ok SO there is a notes folder in there. But what do I do with it? It does not hold my notes, or does it??

My Computer

Open the notes folder and try to open files other than .exe files with Notepad.
If there are sub-folders open and try with Notepad there too.

Thanks for your prompt response Ardeh... but I still struggle..
There are a couple of folders and files that I can open. They have a lot of info in them, but none of them are my notes. Rather there are notes on the style and composition of my stickies, not the notes them selves...
any thoughts/suggestions?

Did you try a System Restore to a date just before you lost the notes ?

LOL!!! Jimminy Crickets... That was backhanded but I managed to get them back... this is what I did.. there was an annoying little box that just showed up on the top of my screen. I clicked on it and it was the google sidebar that was trying to replace my sidebar. I was mortified by the thought of losing it all... so I cancelled and everything was gone...YES>>>EVERYTHING...I screamed and tried to see all of it coming back except the sidebar.. that did not comeback. So I went to my start menu and asked for it back... and lo and behold there it was with notes in all 3 languages!! YES>>
So I am not sure what or how but it solved itself. if you can understand and explain please do so... so I can know what to do next time... for now I have to spend the afternoon making these post-its real on my desk so they do not disappear again!!
Thank you !
