Solved Secure protection when logging on

Hello all.

I'm running Vista Home Edition on my laptop. What can I do to prevent ANYONE besides myself from logging on? I live with an IT person and he has logged on even though I have never given him my password.

Just out of curiosity...will he be able to boot into the safe mode and then do whatever it is that IT people do to get around passwords and then be able to access everything else? I like to try to look at all possibilities.

Depends on just how clever he is. I think a determined IT crafty person would be able to do as they want.
Might be an idea to store all private stuff on an external hard drive or flash drive kept in a secure place away from other prying eyes.

An expensive option with no guarantees that it would ever work.

Back to original suggestion - replace your live in IT whiz with a less computer able one.
