| Vista x84 Home Premium (Moving To 7 Professional on release) | Create/edit folder templates Hey there. I've scanned this forum a bit but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Does anyone know how to edit or create custom folder templates in windows explorer? I don't particularly like the default layout for the metadata tabs for Music Folders in particular. Any help would be apreciated. |

In the Music folder, Press the ALT key, click View (not Views) and be sure that Details is ticked. Next, in the same drop-down menu, click Choose details... The pop-up will let you pick what details you want, and their order. These links may be of interest, too. | Vista x84 Home Premium (Moving To 7 Professional on release) | Re: Create/edit folder templates Yes but this only applies to the one folder, not to sub-folders. I have thousands of folders so don't really want to have to do that individually for each one .When a folder is "customised" to the "music" type, it obviously changes the detail tabs at the top to suit music files, retrieving ID3 metadata from the files - BUT I don't like the way they lay it out. For example, I don't want the rating tab but do want the track length tab. Hence, to apply what I want on a larger scale, I would need to alter this default or add a new one so that it applies to all of my folders. Any more help you could give me? EDIT: Sorry, didn't spot the links at the bottom. One of them fixed my problem thanks Last edited by andeed; 08-08-2009 at 05:30 PM.. Reason: Problem corrected |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Create/edit folder templates I believe that if you follow the tutorial in the second link, you can set all of your folders to Not Specified. There is a way to have sub-folders follow along, think it's pretty simple. I will check into that. Ardneh |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Create/edit folder templates andeed: If you keep your Music folders as a separate type rather than NotSpecified, you can have all folders of the Music type follow what you set up. This is towards the end of the tutorial at the second link. Ardneh |
