Windows 7

KingOfChaos

The Master of Evil
Vista Pro
I will personally wait until SP1 for Windows 7 before I mess with installing it. Due to the way Vista was when it first came out, I believe upgrading to Windows 7 right on release date would be a very bad bad idea.

Who's with me?

I'ts a very personal decision that people will make at the time when they feel they want Win 7.

Being a cautious person, it has been my policy in the past to wait for Sp1 before purchasing a new Laptop / OS.
I see no valid reason to alter that view.
So yes, I will be awaiting SP1, Win 7, before buying the Ultimate version on my new lappy. ;)

I am with you. But I am usually really curious, so I will probably buy it and install it before SP1, and experiment for a bit.

From reading on SevenForums, the RTM seems to have a glitch with the check disk in command prompt but it is inconsistant among various pcs. Vista was fine on release...ppl were attempting to use it on "Vista Compatible" pcs which were under the minimum system specs, causing issues. From testing the RC of Seven I will wait a while before even thinking of investing in it.

I agree that waiting for SP1 to come out is a good choice, but I am still happy with Vista x64:geek:.

I've been testing W7 since the first Beta and now run W7 RC on two systems..one an HTPC. I have found it to be brilliant so far..with all the public testing done on this OS prior to release , I do not think there will be a need for an SP1 anytime soon. It seems to be rock solid and although I've always been a Vista-lover...this new OS is far superior to anything I've seen yet. At this point I'm planning to switch all my 5 systems over to W7 by Christmas...hopefully the announced 3-license release will be available here in Australia when the Retail version is released in October. I have run it on one PC that was a mid range XP unit..not capable of running Vista , and it runs extremely well.:D

I'd like to wait as well until the release of win7 sp1, for two reasons simply, one because It'll probably be more stable, and two I should have enough money to buy one. Anyway, I also still enjoy my vista x64.:D

As soon as I get the upgrade disc I'll be upgrading. More fun pre-SP1.

You need ample time to have that sort of fun. Some of us don't have enough of that luxury.
Let us know how it goes.

I partially agree, but I don't want to be having so much fun that I find some kind of issue! That would be bad for the PC... :p
