Solved Dual Boot confusion

Hello, I have read a lot of questions and answers on dual booting and just dont get it! I have 2 SATA 200gb hard drives and one is running vista premium and the other has nothing on it. I wanted to try the windows 7 so can I just install the windows 7 on my other HD and when I shut down my PC will it ask what HD operating system do I wnat to run? Is this how it works?:shock:

Hello Chad,

Yes, you can install Windows 7 on the other HDD if you like. Afterwards, you will have a choice at boot to select either Vista or Windows 7 to start. Since Windows 7 was the last OS installed, it will start to it by default if you do not select a OS within 30 seconds. This will help show you how to dual boot with Windows 7 and Vista if needed.

yes. just make sure to select the empty hard drive during installation. after installation you will get a screen that lets you choose which operating system to boot. if you dont select one, then the default OS loads after thirty seconds has elapsed.

Ok you say after I install I will get a screen asking what OS I want to load and if I select Vista then that will be my primary OS? and then after that every time I boot up my PC it will ask what OS I want to run and if I dont select anything then it will start the vista correct? Sorry for the questions I just want to get it right:o
