Vista - Windows Vista Aero Problem

Hello All,

I have a big problem with windows vista. I really want to get the aero theme working but I am failing at it. I have windows vista home premium 32bit.I also have 2 gb memory , 2.66 GHz , My resolution at the moment is 1024x768.I have a 19 inch widescreen (dell). Here are some pictures that might help you tell me what my problem is.

Please help me because i really want to get the stylish vista with the aero fine theme

You can post almost any problem in general discussion, so yes, you have posted in the right section. But if you would like to be specific, you can post to another section instead. General discussion usually has more viewers.

I dont know if its just a problem my end but i cant get your pics to maximise can you sort that first?

and you want to think about upping your res if you have a 19" monitor 1400x900 if its widescreen 1280x1024 if its 4:3

Archie i tried the resolution and then restarted but still no aero working.

sorry mate i just recomended you set a differant res as its better for your monitor size not to solve the issue

I cant get your pics to maxim,ise when i click them , they stay small , too small

ah i see so the Aero theme is missing altogether , what graphics card do yuo have?

could you goto control panel , then performance and information tools

in rate and improve your computers performance click the refresh now box and wait till it finishes its tests , tell me what score you get for gaming graphics

there is a point to all this i promise

ok all seems fine , yuor graphics drivers are WAY out of date , first off go here Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers and download and install the latest drivers for your card , driver version should be 190.32

uninstall the old ones first through control panel , reboot then install new

also hit start then all programs / accessories and click RUN in the window type winver and hit return , it should say at the top windows vista home premium

this may not solve the issue but we need to eliminate everything before blaming the operating system

it could be a program you have running at startup that isnt compatible with Aero
