Isn't there a tutorial for you to look at? Or more instructions. There must be something with what you got that tells you. When all else fails, call them.

Sorry but I cannot be of help -- I have a HP machine.

What do the labels say on the disks? My guess would be that the other disk would be Drivers or similar.

Re: educate me ... 3 recovery disks

I got 2 from HP for my Compaq and it turned out the first of was the OS disk and the other was the "Driver and Software DVD". But 3 is kinda odd, you might actually have 2 DVDs for software or if they are CDs then that makes sense a little bit. Before using them contact customer support and make sure that everything is right.

Re: educate me ... 3 recovery disks

two disks say "Recovery 1 and 2". the other just says Gateway... I assume it's a drivers disk? and after the first two are installed it will prompte me to insert disk 3? I'll have to check Gateway support site, but they are very reluctant in letting people know they will ship recovery disks for free. It's all about piracy and saving $$. On these new PC's they aren't sending recovery disks, merely adding the recovery to the HDD, of little help if you can't get your HDD up and running.
