System_Service_Exception Memory_Management

Hello, I seem to be having several random BSODs on my PC.
I'm running Vista Ultimate x64 on an Intel Quad core q6600 @ 2.4GHz
6GB RAM (Dell XPS 420)

About a month ago I just started getting these random BSODs. I hadn't made any major changes when I started getting the problem. I've opened up the PC and reseated everything. The BSOD errors I've received range from

System_service_exception
Memory_Management
irql.not.less . . .

I will attach some of the minidump files I have. I'm hoping someone might have an idea how to fix this. I've looked at some other similar problems people have had, but nobody's issues seem quite like mine.

While you're waiting, here's some stuff to try: BSOD troubleshooting preliminaries - Vox

I'm running the dump files now (only the last 14) - that'll take a while so I'll be back when they're done.

I suspect your Norton protection is causing this problem.

Please:
- Download a free antivirus to use while testing. I recommend the free Avast for x64 systems: Download FREE antivirus software - avast! Home Edition
- Uninstall your Norton product using the free Norton Removal Tool: Download and run the Norton Removal Tool
- Immediately install the free antivirus and immediately updated it.
- Test to see if the BSOD's stop.

More info to follow - I've gotta take a break!

Older drivers (please update) Google for the driver name to figure out which device/program it belongs to. If you have difficulty identifying it, post back for assistance (Sorry for not looking them up, but I'm running out of online time tonight):

You should also run the memory diagnostic and check your hard rive for errors

Ok. Thank you all for your pointers. I will try swapping out the virus scan tomorrow.

I'm confused on the list of items you give me and ask to look up the drivers. Are you saying those are all separate drivers, or is that a set of files all associated with one single driver?

Also, I forgot to mention before that I had already run a memory and hard drive diagnostic and things are good on that front.

The files listed are part of several driver "packages".
When you install a driver package, it installs (in general) several drivers.

For example,
iaStor.sys Sun Sep 30 01:36:30 2007
iastorv.sys Fri Sep 28 14:32:10 2007

are both a part of the Intel Storage drivers on your system

The easy way to update these is to go to the Dell support website and enter your service tag number. That'll take you to a page that lists the drivers for your system.

To get more current drivers, you'll have to look in Device Manager to see what storage controller/motherboard chipset you've got. Then use that at the Intel site to look up the most current version.

Here's where the drivers are from:
Code:
iaStor.sys Sun Sep 30 01:36:30 2007 Intel Storage drivers
iastorv.sys Fri Sep 28 14:32:10 2007 Intel Storage drivers

Thanks for the driver info. I have changed my Virus protection to Avast like you asked. Symantec is outta here. So far so good!

I will try updating drivers here soon too.
