dvd picture quality help (solved)

hey guys
i have recently been having trouble finding a compatible m-peg2 decoder for windows media player 11. that has been fixed, thankfully, but the picture quality is somewhat like a cartoon.

WMP with codec packs is a gamble. Try using VLC ( Download VLC Media Player 1.0.1 - FileHippo.com ). That has the appropriate codec built in and should work better.

Hi Lil,

Did you try to open the same movie in the Windows Media Center? How's the quality of the picture in WMC, did you try any other movie to play in WMP? Perhaps it's the quality of the downloaded movie you've got.

i didn't download it i got the actual disc

and yes i have tried speed racer and garfield 2

i don't think media centre is included in home basic - i cant find it anywhere
