Can't find Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools in Vista

Ever since upgrading to IE8, Adobe Flash Player stopped working. I downloaded "resetfp10.cmd" and "SubInACL" as per instructions from Adobe, and was told to put both of them in C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools which I can't find on my PC.

Can someone please help?

There is no " C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools " on my system either. Maybe they gave you the wrong path.

How will turning off UAC help?

Hi! GeorgeZ,

Thanks for the tip. How exactly will turning off User Account Control help me in finding the directory "Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools on my Vista?

My Computer

Run IE as administrator and it'll work!

How to disable UAC: Start>Control Panel>User Accounts And Family Safety>User Accounts>Turn user control on or off>
Uncheck that box and click OK. Then Resart Your Pc.

You won't find that folder because it may not exist.I don't know where you got that info from but i think it aint good.

What exactly will work after I disable UAC?

Hi! GeorgeZ,

Thanks for the info again.

I got instructions to fix Flash Player download problem from:
Download SubInACL from Microsoft to fix permission issues that prevent the Flash Player installation

I already have the 2 files downloaded and removed all previous installations of Flash Player, but now I'm stuck after that.

I'm now supposed to put both those files in the Windows Resource Kits\Tools\ directory before running "reset_fp10.cmd" which will then execute SubInACL.

You're suggesting I should disable UAC and run IE as administrator and it'll work. Please explain exactly what'll work.

My Computer

Well if you disable UAC i dont think you have to run as administrator IE any more.

But If UAC is on you have to run as administrator.
