Deleting unused item from Startup list. Possible?

I have an unused item (the program has been uninstalled) in my Startup list.

I'm just wondering if it's possible to delete it from the list?

    Thanks.

    D.

    Hello Dinarius,

In addition, this can also help show you how to disable or remove startup items.

    Hope this helps,

    Thanks guys.

I downloaded CCleaner and it found 2.5Gb(!) of junk to delete.

However, that unused item is still listed in Startup, even though I uninstalled the program a while back.

Any way I can get 'under the hood' and delete it manually?

Unless I'm mistaken, Shawn's link deals only with enabling and disabling the items on the Startup list, not removing them.

    Thanks again.

    D.

yes, with ccleaner. open the program, look on left hand side where it says tools. click that and then startup. it will list all your startup items and let you delete them. be carefull what you delete though as some things need to be there

    Thank you very much.

This is one seriously neat program which I will certainly keep on my desktop.

I thought that sorting out that Startup item might solve my problem with some monitor calibration software I'm trying to run. See my other thread here>

'Video LUT loader bc.exe has stopped working' Help!

    Unfortunately it hasn't.

I'm getting a blocked startup item in the system tray now on each startup. It's the Video LUT Loader. The item is clearly listed and ticked (enabled) in Startup. But, Vista won't allow it to start.

    Why?

Apologies for this cross reference, but it's driving me nuts. I had to reinstall the software and this never happened with it previously.

    Thanks.

    D.
