Solved Screen saver Tutorial

First thanks for all the tutorials they are great and easy to follow.

I was wondering however I followed the steps set out for specifying the default screensaver, yet it can still be changed. I only have one account on my computer and it is the administrator account. My OS is Vista Home Premium x64.

Is there a way I can lock it to a specific screensaver so it cannot be changed?

I was following the "Screen Saver - Specify Default" tutorial.

What I would like to do is to prevent the change of the screen saver, without removing the option from the Personalisation menu, if that's possible.

Using the "Screen Saver - Specify Default" tutorial will specify a default screen saver for all user accounts that should not be able to be changed.

Try doing METHOD TWO at this registry location below instead to see if it works better for you. You will have to create the Control Panel key though.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Control Panel

I have edited the registry at the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, and it appears to have worked.

I don't know why but when I tried it through the current user it was still able to be changed.
