Hi all -
I'm new here and a little timid as I'm not a member of any other "tech" forum. The only reason I am here is cause I recently purchased a Toshiba Laptop that came with Home Premium 64bit. When I asked if I could please have XP installed I was told - no way. So I'm stuck with an OS I have no manuals for - other then the Dummies book I bought - and have heard a lot of bad things about. (Else why would Micros... be franticly releasing Windows 7?)
I have a couple of dumb questions right off that if someone could direct me to where I can find answers I would be very grateful. First - the signiture at the bottom of peoples posts - how do I make one for me? I've looked all through my profile section and can't find where I would create it. And the second dumb question is - what are those little square boxes that appear in the upper left of a desktop icon when you click on it used for? Do they have an actual purpose?
Thank you in advance for having a forum where folks like me can ask dumb questions and - hopefully - get straight answers.
