I have an HP Desktop PC and ive had it for roughly 2 years. I was on it one day and it froze. I became EXTREMELY frustrated and unplugged it. I plugged it back in and it would not start up. I gave up on it a while back. I recently tried again and it came up with a new error. It says a disk read error occurred Press Control Alt Delete to resart and it keeps on doing the same thing! Please if you have any info pleas let me know as soon as possible

Thanks for your quick response and its not on a laptop is it the same on a desktop?

Regardless, the command checks for and restores (hopefully) bad sectors on your hard disk.

Well i tried to boot up in safe mode, but it wont even boot up. The furthest it goes is the screen before the Windows logo boot up screen and the screen goes black and comes up with Disk read error occurred screen Thanks for your reply!! If you can help any further please say so!!

Do You still have a dvd in the player?

Didnt think you did but hey I had to ask. Can you boot from the vista dvd? if so you can run a repair install.

Well I was initially going to do that but (again with the buts) I think my PC didn't Come with a disk. Either That or i cannot find it. I'm Pretty Sure that i just cant find it
