problems with file context menus

well...of course when u first in stall windows everything works perfectly, but then over time, things erode little by little until some things stop working properly..

my problem is this...after selecting a large number of files (3200) and right clicking on them, the windows explorer goes thru a few seconds of "not responding" and then gives me nothing....the file context menu never appears..

then i logged into another barely used account (hidden admin) and found it worked like when i'd just installed windows...

obviously, it's got something to do with USED accounts eroding over time...which leads me to my question..

is there anyway to (without doing a system restore) restore the integrity of the user account files that would have an effect on things like this?

hrm..i have a sneaky idea that mite work...couldn't i just delete my user account, save the settings, and then rename the admin account after i log into it?

i think i'd somehow have to use the settings files from my older account to modify the new account..hrm...maybe if i save those buggers somewhere and then copy any i need back into the new account as needed....MUUUAHAHAHA

hrm...after further observations, i realise it doesn't work much better in the admin account either..just if nuthin else is running

oh well..there goes that idea..lol

Thats just too many files at once IMO

well it used to work once....and still does under certain circumstances...
i never have a problem until windows has been installed for a while..
