Hi Everyone

I bought a Dell Latitude E6500 with Vista Business 64bit and for a couple of weeks everything went fine but for the past couple of days I started having blue screens first on starting then on shutdown.

I went to Dell website and found there something interesting about Microsoft Debugging tool however whenever I try to install this program I get a blue screen as well !!!

I attach a zip version of a minidump, hoping this can help.

Can someone assist?

Thanks a lot

We're swamped with these things!!!!

Please uninstall the Windows Update KB973879 update and test to see if it continues. Please let us know if this fixes it.

Hi again

While trying to remove the update indicated, I got another blue screen :(

Stop code seems to be still the same.

What would be the next step?

Thanks again

Hi usasma

I have now managed to remove the windows update in safe mode and system seems to be more stable. At least I managed to install the debugger tool wihout going to blue screen. So I believe we can consider this case as solved for the time being.

One last question : would you recommend de-activating the automatic updates?

Thanks for your help

No need to do that. Microsoft has pulled that update from Windows Update because of all the problems that it's caused.
