Error 0x80070001

Running Vista home premium 32. Waiting for dely of Windows 7.
But would like to switch from 32 to 64 bit.
Clean install brings up error 0x80070001.
Can anybody help?

No. This was a store bought upgrade. I then ordered the 64 bit version from Microsoft but have never tried to install it until now.
