Vista changes appearances

Ok this had been happening for a while now but now its annoying.

Vista changes its appearence from Areo to basic when i run a few programs and games.

It didnt do this when i got this laptop but its slowly started. i'm running vista home premium.

is their anyway to stop this from happening?....other then leaving it at Basic....

Some games are not compatible. For example, I adjusted the shortcut for DosBox to disable aero effects. It will switch back when the app is finished. What games are you running? What is your GPU?

Its auctly a GBA Emulator thats doing it right now. As stated before Areo was working with said emulator fine and works fine up to the point where I load a rom at which point it switches to Basic. Its the same rom that Areo worked with beforehand so its not a incompatability issue.

I know it will switch back to areo after but its annoying seeing that light sky blue basic default color all the time now....

also whats GPU....Still kinda new to vista.

Its the app. The GBA emulator doesn't support the effects of Vista while its running a ROM. As to GPU, what graphics card do you have? In the start menu, type dxdiag and press enter. What does it list in the Display tab?

its not the app....prevously the emu, while running a rom, worked with Areo. now, the same emu and rom are causing it to revert to basic. its only recently it started this....

and as for the GPU:

I wouldn't be surprised. Intel Integrated drivers are not exactly very good.

Nothing. Its Vista's decision. If the bubble pops up click on and choose not to be notified again.

And it could depend on the rom too and how the emulator renders it.
