Can I change .flv file extension, and copy a video to CD/DVD??

OK.....so this is probably hugely naïve, but I would like to make legitimate, playable versions of music and other videos that I have downloaded as Flash Video Files [.flv] to Real Player, and copy these to a CD/DVD.

I do have NTI CD&DVD-Maker 7x. Platinum Edition, and have tried to do this, but it does not recognise the .flv format.

Is there a simple way of copying the video clip and changing the file extension of the copy so that it will be recognised by NTI CD&DVD-Maker?

I stress, that I want a legitimate way to do this. If it can't be done, then so be it, and I'll forget all about trying to do it.

You can use FLV Player (free) to play flv files.

MediaCoder (MediaCoder - more than a universal audio/video transcoder) will convert flv. GUI is cludgy, but it gets the job done.

I would use Format Factory ( Format Factory - Free media file format converter ) to convert the format. It is easy to use and produces excellent quality output. The you use DVD Flick ( DVD Flick ) to burn DVDs. And if I am not mistaken, DVD Flick accepts Flash Video input too.

Thanks for the tips......you've given me my Tutorials for today. Will let you know how I manage to stuff it all up !

Just one further question though. I have .flv format, and for burning to DVD, you would recommend either [.***?], or [.+++?], or [.^^^?] format for the copies?

OK whs, yet another 'Oh hell! Is this guy dumb, or what?" Question.

If all I want to do is burn playable music video[s] to a DVD, then I presume that there is no need to change the .flv file format to a different file extension, if I just use the resources of "DVD Flick", since that software shows the .flv to DVD capability?

Yes, you are right. You can use the .flv as input for DVD Flick. I myself never did that, but that is what the specifications say.
