Can't delete folder from ExHH-Permissions problem

Been trying to delete some stuff from my ExHH, but keep gettng permissions denied. I have installed a registry edit that allows me to "Take ownership" (installs into right click dropdown menu). It appeared to work for many of the files and folders that wouldn't delete, but there are still some that won't delete because when I run Take Ownership, I get an alert that the "windows OS has stopped operating," and the DOS screen stops running. Can anyone help me with this?

Could you give us more info, like the names of the folders, who owns them, were they from a previous OS, etc

I'm running Vista HP 64, for example the folder I can't delete is "Documents and Settings" that came from XP. The Take Ownership registry change came from: the How-To Geek :: Computer Help from your Friendly How-To Geek. I don't know who owns the folder, but I have messed with properties>security in order to get full permission for this folder. But, then again, I san "messed" becasue I really don't know what I am doing there.
