Collection of Batch files for everyone to use!

Hello,

I've been reading a lot on the internet about vista problems, errors, etc. and one of the first checks someone tells the OP is run sfc. Well more than likely if they are posting in a forum asking for help, they don't know how to do it, or what it does. That's the main batch file I made, I also made one to show wireless signal strength, one to defrag the hard drive, and one to clear the dns cache.

I know its not much but I'm just trying to help some of the folks that dont know vista so well and are having a hard time...

I'm working on some finishing touches so they look nice then I'm zipping them up and posting them here

It may be an idea to show the code.
You can get a usb memory stick to autorun with different options 1 run sfc 2 run chkdsk etc.
It would be handy for diag.

Yes, that would be. I'll have to work on that. Thanks for the tips.

I uploaded them with this post. In the zip folder is a readme. Please read it as it has some info on what's in the batch files, what they do, and how they are used.

Thanks guys.

Sorry for the 2nd post, but I attached another batch file with just about every included vista tool. It has menu's.

Re: Collection of Batch files for everyone to use!

In this post I'm including updates to my original defragger batch file, and the sfc batch file.

Included is: Defragger 1.1 and SFC Scanner 1.1
updates: Added menu's for ease of use, eveything works more streamline, everything is in a numerical selection and everything is labeled.

Let me know if there are any problems.

Thanks.

What about creating a batch file that runs a utility that you can pipe the results to a text file? Then the user can upload that text file back to this forum.

I'm sure I can do it, I believe the REM command will do that. Which utility would you like that option for?
