Solved 470 GB Unallocated HD Partition?!!

I installed Acronis true Image at one time, it created it's Secure Zone on the c drive, which was huge as i remember.
Anyway i uninstalled Acronis (too hard to figure out) but i think it left behind this 470 Gb partition on my c drive! It says "470 GB "unallocated" when i look at the drive, but that was not there before Acronis was installed' i'm sure.
How do i get rid of that partition, because i think it's uselessly taking up a huge amount of my space?
Thanks!

have you tried going into disk management? If so and you cant delete it you could aways re-install acronis delte the partition then un-install. are you dual booting?

How big is the drive? internal or external?

Sorry, i should have mentioned that i didn't want to delete the partition unless i was sure i knew what i was doing (i actually don't know how to delete it anyway!)
-1.5 TB internal hard drive... in disc management it says (c:) 925 GB NTFS and 470 GB "Unallocated", that's it.
I doubt i'm dual booting because i don't even know what it means:)
I'd prefer not to reinstall Acronis, and anyway i know that i specifically followed the process to remove the "secure zone" before i uninstalled it.
Thanks.

Hi,

If it shows as Unallocated - it is already deleted.

1. If you want to undelete it

Use this free app.

http://www.partitionwizard.com/

Click Disk1 at the top , then Partition Recovery in the left pane. Scan the Unallocated space - Quick scan should do it.

Tick all the partitions you want to keep - including your current Vista partition .

It is virtual - so you need to click Apply to get it to complete the recovery.

I assume it contains Acronis backup images in the proprietary.tib format.

2. If you don't want to undeleteit - but would rather use that space - then in Disk Management, you can right click your Vista partition and select Extend.

OR you can have it as a separate partition to keep your data on.

You can use the MT partition Wizard to create a new partition from the Unallocated space (rt click Unallocated, select create partition , format as ntfs - Quick format is fine - give it a drive letter) - or , use Disk Management - the process is similar.

Thanks! I just extended the partition and it's back to where it was, about 1397 GB in total.
Good to know about that free partition manager, that may come in handy.
Thanks again.

Hey this partitioning tool is great, especially the boot to it part! I will definately end up using this tool a lot when I accidentally lock myself out from booting normal (I play with linux a lot and bootloaders are easy to get conflicting). As far as the problem here, I think it would've been faster, just to reallocate inside of disk management, but either way the job is done!
